    Position Brief

    Primary Purpose

    The primary focus of the role is to provide support to the Human Resources Business Partner in driving the organisations L&D strategy across Zaparas Lawyers. You will be responsible for identifying gaps in employee knowledge and training needs and using this information to source and coordinate relevant training courses and monitor the employee’s progression throughout in order to build the capability of Zaparas Lawyers.

    Accountabilities & Tasks 

    Leaning and Development

    • Support the HR Business Partner to build the L&D capacity within Zaparas Lawyers through the effective roll out of program content defined by capability frameworks and any other needs identification or gap analysis.
    • Support the HR Business Partner to develop and operationalise the L&D strategy. 
    • Support the HR Business Partner to identify training and development needs within the organisation through job analysis, PDR’s and regular consultation with the people leaders.   
    • Research and design training programs including sourcing relevant materials and or external providers as necessary. 
    • In conjunction with the HR Business Partner – implement training and development solutions designed to drive high performance. 
    • Work with the HR Business Partner to ensure all L&D policies, procedures and processes are up to date. 
    • Organise and coordinate both inhouse and offsite staff training and development programs to meet identified development needs.
    • Work in conjunction with the HR Business Partner to ensure seamless delivery of L&D.
    • Monitor and regularly report on key L&D initiatives and metrics, including but not limited to reporting to the HR Business Partner.
    • Establish and maintain a network of key providers.
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external subject matter experts and L&D vendors relevant to the identified L&D needs of Zaparas Lawyers.
       

    Talent Management
     

    • Work closely with the HR Business Partner to enhance the pipeline of future talent. 
    • Assess the success of employee’s development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities. 
    • Assist and coach line managers in solving specific training problems for staff up to supervisory level in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
    • Support the HR Business Partner to ensure a fit for purpose induction program for new starters. 
       

    Training Administration
     

    • Develop and manage the annual L&D calendar. 
    • Deliver high quality training within agreed budget and ensuring good return on investment. 
    • Liaise with outsourced training providers to manage delivery of training courses.
    • Provide administration support around attendance at training courses.
    • Effectively manage the central booking and facilities arrangements of all L&D initiatives and/or events. 
    • Coordinate the production of training materials for in-house courses. 
    • Maintain training records for Zaparas staff. 
    • Maintain training attendance records and staff feedback for all Zaparas run training.
       

    Evaluation, Monitoring and Reporting
     

    • Ensure all training courses are evaluated using agreed measures. 
    • Utilise information from the evaluation process to identify areas for improvement. 
    • Monitoring training programme and advising management on the relevancy. 
    • Develop and monitor service level agreements with external and internal training resources. 
    • Provide reports on key L&D metrics. 
       

    Recruitment and Selection
     

    • Work closely with the HR Business Partner to support and participate in recruitment and selection activities for approved vacancies across the Firm.
    • Support hiring managers in the development/revision of position briefs.
    • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all recruitment activities

    • Sound understanding and knowledge of effective L&D methods. 
    • Demonstrates appropriate levels of initiative, organisation skills and actions.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant degree and or experience

    Specific knowledge & experience

    • At least 2 years’ experience working within a similar learning and development environment.
    • Demonstrates up to date knowledge of effective L&D methods.

    • Accuracy and Demonstrated ability in producing quality documents and maintain records 
    • Attention to detail which are complete, concise, and error free. 

    IT & computer skills

    • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point and Excel. Aptitude to learn and adopt new systems and technologies. Ability to use scanning and printing equipment as well as data bases.

    • Proven self-starter ability and working autonomously. Operates diligently without direct supervision.

    Customer service & interpersonal skills 

    • Proven ability to service customers in an efficient yet friendly manner.
