The Position 

As an experienced WorkCover lawyer, you will be working within a team and be mentored by a Senior Lawyer. You will work on your own client portfolio with a mix of challenging and complex matters and be responsible for carrying out a variety of legal tasks and providing exceptional client service both face to face, telephone, and video conferencing. This position is suitable for someone who has had hands-on experience in personal injury law and is ready to take their career to the next level. 

The opportunity

A great opportunity has arisen for a full-time WorkCover Lawyer to join our WorkCover team at our Cranbourne office. 

The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice and services to our clients within specialist legal practice areas. The role involves legal research, precedent, gathering evidence, and preparing pleadings in court. The role has significant interaction with clients requiring positive client relationships, explaining the legal process as well as instructing other legal practitioners and administrative personnel as required. It includes taking instructions directly from clients, providing advice, and appearing and instructing in Court.

The Successful Applicant

  • Perform file work, draft legal/court documents, prepare and compile briefs and court judgments.
  • Prepare matters for Conciliation, Medical Panel, and Court.
  • Appear and advocate for clients at directions hearings, conciliations, pre-issue conferences, VCAT conferences, and the like.
  • Attend client meetings, court, or barrister conferences.
